You will NOT be charged anything until you purchase a ticket at a later date. You can come back to edit your account information freely.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">You will receive an email confirmation after creating your account with a link to log in and set your password.\u00a0<strong>You must log in within 24 hrs of creating your account or else the link will expire and you will have to request a new link using the &#8220;Request New Password&#8221; option on the sidebar.<\/strong>\u00a0If you do not receive this email within an hour, please check your Junk or Spam folder, and if it is not there please contact us.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h3 class=\"rtejustify\">Step 2: Registration &amp; Payment\u00a0<\/h3><p class=\"rtejustify\"><strong>NOTE: Ticket purchase is transferable but non-refundable.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">At this time, because you have already entered all of the necessary information, all you need to do is log in at your school&#8217;s registration time, go to the &#8220;Ticket&#8221; tab under &#8220;My Account&#8221;, and click on &#8220;Buy Ticket&#8221;. At this time, your credit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation message.\u00a0<strong>R<\/strong><strong>egistration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please note that if you haven&#8217;t already pre-registered, you may still do so at this time and purchase a ticket if any remain.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h3 class=\"rtejustify\">Step 3: Speaker and Workshop Rankings\u00a0(To Be Announced Soon!)<\/h3><p class=\"rtejustify\">A few weeks after ticket sales begin, you will be asked to\u00a0<strong>rank your preferences for speakers and workshops<\/strong>\u00a0through the &#8220;Edit&#8221; tab under &#8220;My Account&#8221;. You are able to log into your account anytime before the deadline and change these preferences. These preferences will be used to create a personalized schedule for you to attend select speaker presentations and workshops. Tickets are limited to one purchase per account.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">You can also transfer your ticket to another Ontario medical student before this deadline through the &#8220;Ticket&#8221; tab under &#8220;My Account&#8221;. You can even transfer your ticket to a student who did not pre-register. Simply ask them to make an account and you can then transfer the ticket to them before the deadline.\u00a0<strong>Money exchanges for ticket transfers are the responsibility of the individual students.<\/strong><\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\"><strong>After the deadline, no new accounts can be made, and no changes in preferences or ticket transfer can be performed. Hosted by different Ontario medical schools annually, OMSW is geared to facilitate professional networking between healthcare students of all years and schools allowing for the experiences of this unique education to be shared. Every OMSW tries to instill learning in a fun, non-threatening environment to gain tangible clinical skills while meeting your colleagues and this year is no different.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"rtejustify\">When is OMSW?<\/h2><p class=\"rtejustify\"><strong>OMSW 2023\u00a0takes place from October 27th to 29th.<\/strong>\u00a0On the evening of Friday October 27th,\u00a0attendees will arrive in Kitchener-Waterloo and check into their hotel. At this time conference lanyards may be picked up. Opening festivities will be planned for the evening. Saturday October 28th is a full day of various workshops, speaker sessions, and expo booths, featuring the best teachers that McMaster University has to offer, and resources that any medical student will find useful. The day will conclude with a formal dinner and more social events through the night. You can find more detailed information under the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/omsw.ca\/schedule\">Schedule tab<\/a>.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"rtejustify\">Where is OMSW?<\/h2><p class=\"rtejustify\">OMSW this year will take place at the Crowne Plaza, in the core of downtown Kitchener. All conference sessions and attendee accommodations will also be at the Crowne Plaza.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"rtejustify\">Will I get to choose which sessions I can attend?<\/h2><p class=\"rtejustify\">Following purchasing a ticket, you will be asked to rank speaker and workshop sessions a few weeks later. Based on your rankings, we will try to get all of the attendees the sessions that they want. Once assigned, attendees will not be able go to other sessions due to space constraints.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"rtejustify\">How many delegates will there be?<\/h2><p class=\"rtejustify\">OMSW 2023\u00a0will have space for around 500 attendees this year, with some restrictions to the number of attendees from each medical school campus to ensure diversity.<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"rtejustify\">How do I get to OMSW?<\/h2><p class=\"rtejustify\">Transportation to OMSW is organized at each school by the VP External of the school&#8217;s student council, and will be subsidized by the OMSA. Please contact your school&#8217;s VP external\u00a0for more information.\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"rtejustify\">\u00a0<\/p><h2 class=\"rtejustify\">Who I am sharing a hotel room with at OMSW?<\/h2><p class=\"rtejustify\">After ticket sales, a set number of hotel rooms are assigned to each of the schools based on the number of attendees.\u00a0<strong>You will be sharing your room with up to three other attendees from your school. He is Chief of Innovation at University Health Network (UHN). He is Professor of Thoracic Surgery and Biomedical Engineering and Vice Chair for Innovation, Department of Surgery, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto (UofT).\n\nDr. Keshavjee completed his medical training at UofT in 1985. He subsequently trained in General Surgery, Cardiac Surgery and Thoracic Surgery at UofT followed by fellowship training at Harvard University and the University of London for airway surgery and heart-lung transplantation, respectively. He joined the faculty at UofT in 1994 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2002. Dr. Keshavjee was the inaugural holder of the Pearson-Ginsberg Chair in Thoracic Surgery and served as the Chair of the Division of Thoracic Surgery at the University of Toronto from 2004 to 2010. He served as Surgeon-in-Chief of University Health Network from 2010-2022.\n\nDr. Keshavjee\u2019s clinical practice is in thoracic oncology, lung cancer and lung transplantation. He has a passion for surgery and innovative research. He is a Senior Scientist in the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute, UHN. He leads a large team of researchers in a foremost pulmonary research program and is widely published in the field. His specific research interest is in lung injury related to transplantation. His current research involves the study of support systems, molecular diagnostics and gene therapy to repair organs and to engineer superior organs for transplantation.\n\nDr. Keshavjee has served on the board of directors of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the Canadian Society of Transplantation, and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery, where he also served as Treasurer and 102nd President. He has received numerous awards for contributions to medicine, including the George Armstrong Peters Young Investigator Award, Canada\u2019s Top 40 Under 40 Award, the Colin Woolf Award for Excellence in Medical Education, and the Lister Prize in Surgery - the highest award for research achievement in the Department of Surgery at UofT. He is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and has been awarded Honorary Doctor of Science Degrees from both Ryerson University and Queen\u2019s University. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, where he teaches clinical medicine on the hospital wards and lectures on healthcare leadership, emotional intelligence, and health innovation.\n\nDr. Nikore has led and founded various organizations and groups, such as HomecareHub to help patients find home care, and the non-profit LYFE (formerly uFLOW), which empowers underserved youth to start their own health service projects. He is a former software developer at IBM, and also led projects at Sun Microsystems, Citibank, UCLA, WHO in Geneva, UNICEF in India, the Ontario Ministry of Health, and Lux Capital in NYC.\n\nHe has authored chapters on e-Health, medical devices, and genomics, and is authoring a chapter on artificial intelligence in healthcare. He has given talks on healthcare technology, innovation, global health, and leadership in various cities around the world.\n\nDr. Nikore completed his internal medicine residency training from Cleveland Clinic's main campus, MD degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC), MBA at the Yale School of Management, and his BSc in computer science and software engineering at the University of Western Ontario. In Music and Health Bartel has a broad interest ranging through music therapy, music medicine, music neuroscience, musician\u2019s health, and music in human development. He has a special interest in applications of music in health conditions of aging and rehabilitation and is well known for his research and design of music for brain effects with 27 albums on Solitudes and SonicAid.  His primary research interest is Pulsed Stimulation Therapy with applications in pain, depression, Alzheimer\u2019s, spinal and skeletal conditions, and Cardiac Rehab.
